Here is a technique of making table tops that use an existing jump as a starting point. If you have a jump that you like and it looks like it would make a good ramp for a table top then place two of them the distance that you want the table top to be.
Once they are placed, then select the color of the peak of the jumps and use that color to draw the flat part of your table between the jumps. Carefully blur where the seams are, using the selection tool to restrict where you blur.
To fix up the sides of the table you can use this technique (which is also useful for restoring jumps that have become droopy on the sides from too much blurring). Use the rectangle selection tool or if it's at an angle then carefully draw a rectangule and select the middle of the table. Include both jumps in your selection. You want to get about the middle one third of it.
Copy it and then paste it on both sides of the table.
This will give a nice edge to it and make it symmetrical.
