Textpad is a Notepad replacement with a a lot of helpful features. It is very good at working with large files or many files. It has a tabbed interface that lets you quickly switch between files. Textpad does syntax highlighting and macros. The macros are easy to create and will do repetitive tasks for you. There is a feature that let’s you capture the output of console type applications and display it in one of Textpad’s windows. That makes it easy to edit a batch file or script in one window, run it with a hotkey or menu item, and then look at the output under in Textpad.

One feature that I like is the clip library. It’s easy to make clips and it’s then easy to use them. You can download other clip libraries from their web site. I will be adding a few pages to this site demonstrating some of the features that I really like about Textpad.
