Speedway in the Northeast

I love speedway. It's my favorite form of racing to watch. I fell in love with it when I lived in California in 1972. I stumbled on it at Ventura fairgrounds. I moved away and then moved back in 1978. The racing was even better. I would go to Costa Mesa to the Orange County Fairgrounds every Friday night and watch them. I lived in San Bernardino and I went there every Wednesday night.

I only lived in CA. for two years (I was in the Air Force) and then had to move to Omaha, NE. No more speedway. They have great dirt track racing for cars in Iowa and Nebraska, but it isn't the same. I was poking around some web sites and found out that they were racing speedway in southern NY. I took a weekend and went to two races out there at Action Park and Champion Speedway. The racing was great and here are a few pictures from it.

I wish it was more popular.
