This is probably my biggest failure. I completely misread what people would like. I thought it would be fun to take an SX track and make it a Stunt Quarry, so that you could get points for stunts while riding an SX track. I created this at the same time that I created Joy Of SX. To make this I started work on a StepUp 2 plugin enhancement called StepUp2Stunts.
StepUp2Stunts had more and bigger jumps. This track used a couple of them. It also had default terrain that was very rough. The purpose of the rough terrain was to keep people from racing off the track and then building up speed and hitting the sides of the jumps. The rough terrain worked very well at doing that.
I thought the track was pretty good for doing stunts. One of the things that I don't like about Stunt Quarry is that fact that you have to hold one stunt for a long time. I wouldn't mind it if you could do multiple stunts and get points for that, but that's not the way it works. With Stunt SX you can do more jumps frequently so that you can do different jumps. Because of the way that Stunt Quarries work Stunt SX requires that everybody agree to ride around the track in the same direction.
One thing that I misjudged was that by uploading it as a Quarry the people that would download and review it were Quarry people. I got trashed in the reviews, because everybody wanted to ride it like a quarry. My audience was SX riders and they didn't know about it to download it or they didn't review it.
Something different and fun. You can get points quickly by doing multiple stunts quickly one after the other. To do this you first need to learn how to ride the track and then throw stunts in while your in the air. It is very frustrating if you just try to do stunts and then crash because you are not riding the track properly.
It's an SX track posing as a Stunt Quarry and nobody seems to want it.
I think it was a neat idea and I'm sad that nobody ever wanted a StepUp2Stunts plugin. If anybody is interested in getting Stunt SX, just e-mail me and I will make it available to you.
