digital earthworks not working please help!

I updated to windows 10 and since then I have not been able to get onto digital earthworks. It keeps coming up with an error that says "You need to install some extra software before you can run the editor" Access violation at address 008EC29D in module digitalearthworks.exe read of address 0000044D.

I have already looked on the forum and read what others have done but still cannot get it to work.
Can someone please help me figure this out. I really want to get back into making tracks.
