I agree aswell Bruce, MCM2 sucks on realistic nationals because it's so easy to hold and gain your speed. Some of Mikes worked really good considering MCM2's physics but there was always those stupid lines you could hit in MCM2, tight SX's you can slow the bikes down a fair bit more but even still you can make up very unrealistic lines.

Mike,  I always thought your tracks were too good for MCM 2.  What I mean by that is that the MCM 2 bike could not ride your tracks they way that it should be able to.  The MCM 2 bike wasn't capable of taking advantage of what your tracks offered. 

I'm hoping that you re-make some for MVA so that we can see what it's like with a bike that rides bumps better and slips in the turns.

Thanks Bruce for the nice compliment and if we have a way of doing that I will try it out and maybe I will be able to talk some of these guy's into whipping up some awesome textures for them being that I'm colored blind. If you guy's are bored here's what I've been up to over the past 2 yrs. and has taken up so much time. You will notice I've done alot of traveling and had some funs times. I will be featured in our Town Newspaper tomorrow and it will be about a recent National Park Calendar Contest I won with the first photo.

unrealistic lines are caused by PRELOAD. I wish they never included the preload function.
Now i read about "double preload" for MVA.

Let's hope its not that bad.

I don't believe preload is the reason.  I think it's preload plus the unrealistic speed.  I believe the speed will be contained more in MVA.  I also think preload's effectiveness should be relative to the speed you are going.  So that you have to work harder at it the faster you go.

Mike don't let being color blind bother you.  I'm color blind and so is Jeff (MCMNut).  Nothing I hate worse than asking my family for an opinion and they say something like, "why is the dirt pink?".

The nice thing about preload, especially in the MXU series, is that you can choose to do it, or you can choose not to do it.  I appriciate track makers who design tracks that don't require preload to clear the obsticals...but a really great track usually is fun for preloaders and non preloaders.

It would be neat to be able to turn preload off in MVA...

I have played MXU and MVA with pro physics.  I have spent quite a bit of time comparing MXU vs MCM 2 on the same tracks and the MCM 2 bike beats the MXU bike hands down when it comes to preload.

I can't comment on non-pro physics.

They have made preload easier to do in MXU and MVA with the nice little gauge showing how you are doing.  If you can preload in MCM 2 there is no competition.  I find that I can jump about 20 to 30 percent farther in MCM 2 than I can in MXU.

Sure preload gives you an advantage to clear some big jumps, but in both mxu and mva in many cases once you get up to speed you clear the same jumps without preload. (mcm also) No preload is of course faster than clearing the same jump with preload. In MXU and MVA you don't get as much distance out of a preload as you do in mcm. You go so far in mcm because of the 100mph speed you can get to on alot of tracks. MVA gives you alot more height, resulting in slow lap times.

Maybe it`s just me, but I love the preload effect in MX vs ATV. I agree that it is a bit ridiculous in both games how you can preload out of the freakin stadium if need be, but what I love is how it is pressure sensitive. So you can preload a wee bit if you need that extra bit of oomph to get over the jump, or if you make an inside pass and dont have much speed, you can still get over the jump. Also if you master how to preload (know exactly how much to preload when and where) I think it`s a very cool addition to the game, and I know for a fact that it makes my lap times faster, because it allows me to take different lines.

When riding with the fast guys I've always been amazed by the their ability to stay low when riding fast and to jump far when going slow.

Well I disagree, what we really need is a option to lower the amount of preload available in game to a more realistic level.

The preload in MVA (console version!) is easier to control, can be unrealistic at times but doesn't give the same advantage as in  MCM2.  It is a game after all and you do need a way to compensate for speed and conditons to keep the pace & fun up. I think an arcade and realistic setting would satisfy more people but really most people playing this game want it to look and feel real but be able to do the near impossible... Arcade

I think that different settings, ie "arcade" and "realistic" would be great.  Ship the game set on "arcade" to make all the kiddies happy.  Its sort of what they try to do with the "race" and "pro" physics, but I don't think the "pro" physics is quite "hardcore" enough to satisfy me.

I haven't played MXvATV, but on MXU, I really enjoy riding the SX tracks without preload.  You can seatbounce jumps a bit to add height, but not get the ridiculous, Cape Caniveral take-off effect.  It would sort of be nice to have sliders for stuff like preload, brake pressure (I always endo the bikes in MXU...), etc.

For me, preload ruins MXU.  I don't think I really use preload on MCM2...I load the suspension on jumps but don't think I jerk the joystick forward at the right time to consider it preload.

I dunno, I guess I'm just plain excited to see what I can do come the 16th (only 2 weeks away!)

Mikemach, I always loved your AMA replicas for MCM2. I couldn't compare them to how realistic they were, but they always provioded a challenge and definately reduce the amount of unrealsitic distance one could get in MCM2.

And I agree Twisted there. Your tracks were too advanced for MCM2, but you had to work with what you were given. I hoope you make a great return for MX vs ATV and make AMA replicas yoru first priority

Think about it.. there are always hacks and mods for every online PC game.. even cheats too... do you think dev's of Counter-strike put support in for online cheats? lol..
