5. I'm digging the big muddy/sandy mess the National tracks are and railing the berms on the SX tracks and getting a fast shot into the triple or whoops.  It's just not an every lap experience for me yet.  I certainly can make lots of mistakes.  I think it will make for some great racing. 
6. I'm liking the tracks.  I'm finding lots of things close to my heart, like variance across the tops of jumps so the line choice is more important or you have options.  I like how that changes each lap as the track changes. 
7. Of course I like all the dozer tracks.
8. I like that I'm actually using the brakes.  I'm finding some turns that it is just better to slightly drag the brakes.  On some laps you really get a head of steam up and you may have to drag your brake over a jump so that you don't over jump.  On some tracks if you go too fast and are slightly out of time with the jumps you can really bounce of the track.  Great stuff.

I have yet to taste the multi-player.  The true test for me will be racing while on TeamSpeak and seeing how accurate the multiplayer is.

For me Bruce, I felt this way about the 360 and completed the game... I need to fire up the PC!

How's it going RK?  It's definitely time to fire up your PC and stop by more often.

I just wanted to say that I have had a blast playing this game on-line with DirtTwister and AMA_King.  I suck at it, but I'm having a blast none the less!  The real time track deformation and ability to move the rider independent of the bike adds a lot to the game play.

It will be great if we can get some custom tracks into it and do some other mods!

It does feel a lot like MX Mania at times, and that's not a bad thing.  I always liked that game and thought it was way under rated.  I'm loving Reflex so far.  It would be killer if they would actually design a game for the PC again instead of porting them after the fact.

I've wondered if the person responsible for the physics in EB/MX Mania now works at Rainbow.  They were way ahead of their time.  If they had backed off what they were letting the bike do for stunts and come up with a few more updated versions it would have been equal to Reflex about 6 years ago.

Yes, they were way ahead of their time.  I wish they would have kept making MX games.

I would be very curious to know if it is in fact the same guy writing the physics code.

As far as new custom (user created) tracks and mods (hint-hint)...

I think it is reasonable to believe they have a utility to add "old" tracks (like all the MX vs ATV SX) to the game.
- a utility to add old objects, unzip & re-zip old tracks & re-do traction / deformation maps.

At the very least, I think we should expect converted MX vs ATV track packs or DLC first...

It would be awesome to ride those "old" tracks with new rider Reflex's and track deformation!

Yep!  It sure would!

I sure miss the old MCM2 tracks. Voodoo Basin is probably the one I miss most, but maybe that's because it's the one I remember the most. Regardless, there are plenty of MCM2, ATV Offroad Fury, and MX Unleashed tracks I would love to see transferred. Being that Alive is so close, and we already have all of the DLC that Reflex got on the consoles, I don't see RBW taking the time to do anything else for Reflex. That doesn't mean that someone else can't convert them.

Yall got me wondering if I should attempt to get started back into gaming? Gave up trying to run MCM2 with this Vista OS.

Hi Kent.  You should at least cough off the $20.00 and check it out.  I think I'm on the lower end of what I think would be acceptable system.  I have an AMD X2 6400 with an NVidia 8800 GTS video card.  With video cards it's seems the more memory bus width that you have (mines 320, 512 is better), memory (1 gig is great), and the number of Cudas (or ATI equivalent), is what makes the difference.  They do a lot more work on the video card and the dispmaps and textures are much bigger.

I really liked MX ATV on the 360 as well, though RKip is considerably better at it than myself   (a truth that does not apply in real life MX - haha!)

Any who,  I'm downloading it from Steam now... saw some questions about steam etc earlier.. it's like Xbox live, but for PC basically.  Good to see you all on here still, FYI, I've become a Flash / Multimedia Advertising guy by trade - a path of life inspired by building tracks / creating textures with some of  you years ago.

Hope to be into it again with this game.

It may be I'm not use to MX vs ATV Reflex, as it's been a while since I've played it on the 360.... but IMHO, the computer version is very sensitive and the controls do not quit respond as the 360 controls/version has for me!  The controls feel more digital than Analog actually!  I am running the Logitech Rumble Pad 2 (wireless) instead of the 360 controller (could not get it to work, ordered a 360 wireless controller made for PC), so it may be simply the difference in controllers.  However, I have set the logitech profiler up for Reflex and lowered the sensitivity to 35% and it still just doesn't feel right.

Bruce, I know you played the 360 version what do you think, do the controls feel the same?  I know the 360 version plays much smoother...LOL

Anyone else find the version to be different?

From the little i played on the pc thus far, the brake gyro effect in the air is definately more potent on the pc then the 360, ive put alot of hours now on the 360 version and definately noticed differences in the pc version... i actually thought they felt better, but in certain areas of motion it would be very erratic and lose control easier then the 360...

One thing ive noticed also which is very weird on the 360, i recently started playing some split screen racing at friends places, and without a doubt, it seems the game physics play differently in this mode, i have no idea why, but it definately feels that way, i know ud expect maybe a feel difference from the squashed in screen and change in res. but this feels more then that, the xbox definately doesnt like the dual screen either on the older model 360.. as it seems to glitch a far bit...

From the ps3 to the xbox, the ps3 actually felt worse then 360  i thought, but im not sure if that was a controller issue from my side of the fence, being used to the glorious 360 control.

They seem the same to me.  I do seem to drop my front wheel more on the PC.  My PC plays it smooth, except in a full room on tracks like Grassland.  I probably should go back and play the 360 again since I have put a ton of time on the PC since I played on the 360.

I'm using a wireless 360 controller on the pc and I think that both games "feel" the same. I think the 360 version of the game is faster paced while the pc version seems to be easier to preload / jump. My pc is pretty strong (Intel Core i7 920, 6gb DDR3 ram, GeForce GTX460, SSD hard drive) and I get 80+ fps all the time at 1920x1080, so it's not lag, it's just the way the game was converted by Double Helix.
