Instead of a tool for helping me get things done on the computer, this is a tool for helping in get things done in my life. It actually helps you implement David Allen’s “Getting Things Done (GTD) system.

For most of my life I’ve used a text editor to keep my todo list. For a while in the DOS days I used BBO (Brown Bag Outline). As we moved away from DOS I never really found a good replacement. I tried different ones and did settle on Ecco for a while. I was never quite satisfied with any of them. About a year ago a co-worker told me about a program he started using to help implement the philosophy of Getting Things Done. That program was My Life Organized.

I tried it and fell in love with it. The author of the program is quite generous and gives you a 45 day trial period to make your decision. It isn’t perfect, but I easily adapted to it and quickly was able to use it to help me keep track of the numerous tasks that pop up daily. I had a couple of questions and feature requests and when I sent them in the author quickly responded. Within a few versions those features have shown up in the released product.

This section of my site is dedicated to MLO and the things I stumble on to make it’s use more productive. Please contact me if you have any questions or suggestions.
