Rainbow Unleashed Editor
Game: MX vs ATV Unleashed for Windows
Purpose: Official project, terrain, activity, spline, and packaging editor.
Use the official editor to establish a valid project and final game-compatible terrain. Unleashed Editor Too extends the workflow but does not make the official project structure irrelevant.
Basic workflow
- Create a new project and choose the activity/track type.
- Set terrain scale before extensive activity work; old reports say it can reset when activity settings change.
- Import the displacement and tile textures using the editor's expected dimensions.
- Define an activity and course/AI spline.
- Add environment, objects, and gameplay settings.
- Build/test a PAK early, then keep dated project backups.
- Use UE2 for capabilities unavailable or awkward in the stock editor, returning to the official tiled-build process where the UE2 version marks an operation experimental.
Scale notes
The game/editor use feet for terrain and models. Historical forum testing describes grid scale as 3.5 for indoor and 4.5 for outdoor projects. If UE shows an elevation value and UE2 shows maximum elevation in feet, the relationship reported was:
UE2 maximum elevation = UE elevation × grid scale
Verify this on a known feature because editor versions and project types differ.
