BikeSwitcher

Requested download: bikeswitcher12.zip
Later preserved build: BikeSwitcher14.zip
Game: Motocross Madness 2

BikeSwitcher installs packaged bike/rider modifications into MCM2 resource data and also changes selected rider-profile and engine settings. The development discussion stresses that it is effectively a specialized package manager, not merely a visual bike selector.

Install

  1. Extract the ZIP to a temporary directory.
  2. Run its setup program.
  3. If it reports missing VB components, install the archived Visual Basic 6 runtime. The shorter URL printed in the original readme is no longer present in the preserved site tree.
  4. Keep a clean backup of the MCM2 RES directory before adding a package.

Use

The installed help file is the intended UI reference. A conservative reconstructed workflow is:

  1. Close MCM2, Sik Trix, and all resource editors.
  2. Use BikeSwitcher to restore stock files before establishing a new baseline.
  3. Select a compatible .pkg modification from the expected Bikes/Riders package folders.
  4. Install/select the desired package, then start MCM2 and select the matching bike/skin if the tool has not done so automatically.
  5. Restore stock resources before switching to an unrelated package or troubleshooting another utility.

Version history and limits

  • Version 1.2 is the user-requested archive.
  • Preserved 1.4 development increased the package allocation from roughly 1 MB to 4 MB for larger model/texture packages.
  • Rider-only packages were not always detected in early builds, and creators did not consistently include preview art or a standard TD INI.
  • A custom model can prevent Sik Trix from rendering correctly. Restore stock models before diagnosing a blank rider/bike view.
  • Package order matters when multiple packages alter the same resource. The later MCM2 Package Manager was designed to handle this explicitly.
